About Us

Compassionate care for pets across Edmonton

Where Happy Pets Meet Peace of Mind

At Happy Paws, our mission is to be a trusted extension of your family, by caring for your pets with love, respect, and reliability when life takes you elsewhere.

Because at Happy Paws, we know pets need connection just as much as humans — and we’re honoured to become their second-favourite person while you’re away.

Our Staff

At Happy Paws, we believe pets are true family — loyal companions who walk with us through life’s biggest milestones and quietest moments. Our philosophy is rooted in compassion, connection, reliability, adaptability, and playfulness. We understand that when life happens — whether it’s a hospital stay, funeral, or unexpected trip — the last thing you need is the mental load of arranging care. That’s where we step in: with flexibility, warmth, and peace of mind.

Sarah-Kaitlyn Shearer

Founder

I started Happy Paws after seeing how stressful boarding could be for pets and their owners. My goal is simple: keep pets happy in the comfort of their own home and give owners total peace of mind. I’m licensed, insured, and lucky to lead a small, dedicated team. When I’m not with animals, you’ll find me hiking local trails, supporting Edmonton’s small businesses, or curled up with a good book.

Chloe M

Manager & Client Care

As a dedicated pet care specialist and manager of Happy Paws, I bring both professional experience and personal passion to everything I do. Having grown up surrounded by animals and currently caring for four cats of my own, I understand firsthand the importance of providing pets with not just proper care, but genuine love and attention.

Alexa "Lex" J

Social Media Manager

I’ve been caring for pets professionally for over six years, but animals have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. As a proud dog mom to two pups, I understand the trust it takes to leave your furry family in someone else’s hands. I bring energy, compassion, and a personal touch to every visit, making sure each pet feels safe, loved, and happy while their owners are away.

Pet Care

Growing up there’s always been animals around me. I love volunteering at shelters, or clinics Now, I'm on my way to work with them forever, as I'm planning on going to school for animal science. Having 3 dogs (and a horse!) I understand how much responsibility to care for these pets! I strive to give animals the best experience while understanding it can be stressful not having their parents around!

Jayla

Pet Care

I’m introverted at first, but I open up quickly once I’m comfortable. I love fall walks, staying active, and creating art. I’m applying to diagnostic medical sonography and practical nursing because helping people feels right for me. When I’m not focused on my goals, I’m usually tidying up after my cats or getting outside for snowboarding, volleyball, or soccer.

Sandra

Pet Care

I am friendly, outgoing and have a love for animals especially my cat named Creamsicle. I grew up on a pig farm just outside of Alix, Alberta where we had pigs, horses, cows, goats, rabbits, dogs, cats and even goats. People have entrusted me with their pets as well as their little humans. I am looking forward to caring for your animals with genuine love, care and trust.
